Universal Chung Wah Funeral Directors specialise in Asian funeral services and are experts in arranging Buddhist, Taoist, Christian and Catholic funeral services. Our funeral directors are fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, English and Vietnamese.
Ways to arrange a funeral
Our compassionate funeral directors can help you arrange a memorable funeral service to celebrate and honour your loved one's life. We will work closely with you during the days following their passing, providing gentle guidance when you need it most. We are available 24 hours, 7 days a week.
With professional care from our highly trained staff, we will look after:
Service in one of Universal Chung Wah's chapels or a chapel arranged by the family, followed by burial service in your preferred cemetery
Service in a chapel in your preferred cemetery at a fee charged by the cemetery, followed by a burial service in your preferred cemetery
A graveside service
Service conducted in the crematorium chapel, followed by cremation, or a "No Service No Attendance" cremation
Buddhist / Taoist services
We are well connected to the Sydney Buddhist community and have established long-standing relationships with all local Buddhist temples. Our Funeral Directors will work alongside your chosen temple to make sure the service is constructed according to your religious customs and traditions. Our chapels are specifically designed to meet the needs of all Buddhist funeral rituals, including chanting, burning of joss paper and burning of incense. Our team will organise the individual requirements of your service in accordance with your temple, providing a wide range of service items such as different types of joss paper, traditional Asian coffins and caskets, religious ornaments, urns, incense, religious blankets and traditional gowns.
Catholic / Christian services
We have extensive experience organising and delivering funeral services to Catholic and other Christian denominations. Services can be held within our chapels, in your preferred church or at one of our memorial parks and gardens. We will organise all the religious rites of the service according to your needs, liaise with your Priest or Pastor, keeping you informed the whole way through. Many families ask for time with their loved one for prayers before the service, which our Funeral Directors can arrange.
Non-religious and celebrant-led services
We provide non-religious services and facilities for our client families. However, if traditional rituals or customs are important to you, we can incorporate these elements into the service. We can provide audio visual equipment in our chapels for memorial presentations or music. We work with a range of funeral celebrants and can organise their availability for your service. We can help you with writing eulogies and develop an order of service booklet.
